What this is

FreelanceGiant is a small set of free tools for the administrative side of freelancing — pricing work, invoicing it, chasing payment, tracking deductions and estimating tax. It exists because those five problems are genuinely annoying, the existing free tools mostly want your email address first, and none of them talk to each other.

The site is funded by advertising. There is no paid tier, no trial, no account, and nothing held back.

How the tools are built

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser using plain JavaScript. That isn't a technical footnote — it's the core design decision, and it has consequences worth stating plainly:

Your figures never reach us. Income, client names, invoice amounts and expense totals are processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored in a database, or logged. We could not produce your data if asked, because we never receive it.
There is no account system, so there is no password to leak and no profile to build.
The pages are deliberately lightweight — no web fonts, no frameworks, no tracking libraries beyond basic analytics. They load fast on a phone on bad signal, which is often where people actually use them.

The one trade-off: because nothing is stored on a server, closing the tab generally clears your work. The invoice generator is the exception — it saves a draft to your own browser's local storage so an accidental reload doesn't lose an in-progress invoice. That draft never leaves your device either.

How the tax figures are maintained

Two of the tools — the self-employment tax calculator and the deductions calculator — depend on IRS figures that change every year. We handle that as follows:

Every figure is sourced. Both tools list the specific IRS publications their numbers come from, linked, on the page itself.
Every page is dated. Each shows when its figures were last checked against those sources. If that date looks stale relative to the tax year you're planning for, treat the result with suspicion — and tell us.
We say what we don't model. Both tools carry an explicit list of what they leave out — credits, dependents, retirement contributions, state rules, entity types. An estimate that hides its own limits is worse than no estimate.
We don't publish figures we can't verify. The self-employment tax calculator deliberately omits head-of-household filing status, because we could not confirm those bracket thresholds against a primary IRS source. Leaving an option out is better than guessing in a tax tool.

Corrections

If you find an error — a figure that's out of date, a calculation that doesn't match your own working, or guidance that's wrong — email hello@freelancegiant.com and say so. Corrections to the tools are made promptly and the review date is updated when they are.
